Committees for 2019

The President is an ex-officio member of all committees so please keep me informed of dates, times and decisions made by the committees.

Executive Committee

Purpose:

• To act on matters requiring immediate Association action when the convening of the full Board is impractical
• Duties as outlined in the Association By-laws

By Laws Committee

Purpose:

• Periodically review the EPRTA By-laws to identify the need for change;
• Develop and recommend proposed changes to the text;
• Present recommendations to the full Board for approval

Community Outreach Committee

Purpose:

• Research to identify needs in the community for which EPRTA financial and/or volunteer efforts could assist
• Communicate with community officials to assure there is no infringement on town responsibilities

Legislative Committee

Purpose:

• Monitor State and Federal legislative issues for those that may impact EPRTA members and apprise the President of any such relevant legislation.

Long-Range Planning Committee

Purpose:

• Periodically review organizational achievement of goals and objectives
• Establish completion dates
• Set new goals, objectives, and time frames as appropriate, for recommendation to the Board
• Conduct surveys to elicit information from members which can assist the BOD in planning how we move forward

Membership Committee

Purpose:

• Develop ways to recruit and maintain existing members
• Develop literature describing EPRTA, including but not limited to advantages to members and potential members, reprinting of Mission Statement, Goals and Objectives and other marketing tools to potential new members
• Contact new members to reinforce the benefits of joining EPRTA
• Periodically solicit volunteers, monitor responses, and coordinate contact between volunteers and appropriate committee(s)

Newsletter Committee

Purpose:

• Produce a newsletter to communicate with full membership at least four times a year to provide timely information concerning issues of relevance to the Town of Eastham and the Cape in general.
• Apprise membership of the activities of EPRTA conducted on their behalf

Nominating Committee

Purpose:

• Identify and recommend candidates for Officers of the organization, from the active members of the EPRTA Board of Directors
• Identify and recommend, from the general membership, based on their interest and past activity in support of EPRTA, candidates for EPRTA Board of Directors

Program and Member Meeting Committee

Purpose:

• Secure meeting room permits for all Association meetings
• Secure Member meeting sign permits in January of each year
• Execute Executive Committee approved agendas and program for July and August meetings
• Coordinate invitations to and presentations by meeting participants
• Secure Member meeting venue, refreshments and seating arrangements
• Post and remove meeting signs as per the sign permit
• Assign Committee members to specific meeting and venue tasks
• Organize Board participation in windmill Weekend and other programs involving EPRTA

Public Relations Committee

Purpose:

• Coordinate public announcements to the media, Town of Eastham and any other external groups
